...here's to October's frost kissed apples;
the wild-as-the-wind smell of hickory nuts
& the nostalgic whiff of that first wood smoke"
SPARTA'S SCARECROW FALL FESTIVAL ROCKED!
Since the 1800's, fall fairs have been a form of celebrating the end of harvest. Farmers and town folks alike came together, to talk yields and reflect on the season past.
Hundreds of years later, Fall Fairs still bring folks together, city and country with offerings of homemade products, arts & crafts along with the pure want of a gentle autumn day in the country. Bags and Bags filled with country fair and items left the village even with the chilly weather the day brought - the comments warmed many a heart.
Join us this Saturday September 23rd for our Annual Scarecrow Festival in the Historical Village of Sparta
Artisans: the Village Scarecrows
It has been reported that during the errieness of the nights, scarping, stapling, rustling of cornstalks and more could be heard amid the usual spooky sparta sounds......... only in morning to wake up to yet another seasonal SCARECROW sitting on the front porch.
